Shahrukh Khan was born on the 2nd Nov. in the year 1965. He started as an actor in Television serials and later graduated to full fledged movies. One cannot slot him as a Movie actor now as he dons several hats, including Film producer and television anchor.

Shahrukh Khan made his debut on television with the serial Fauji and followed it up with Circus. Both were very succesful and Shahrukh Khan or SRK as he is known now became a famous TV star.

Shahrukh Khan ten made the transition to the big screen and debuted with the movie Deewana in the year 1992. That movie was successful and ensured he was taken seriously as a major star in Bollywood. He has won thirteen Filmfare Awards, seven of which are in the Best Actor category; Baazigar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Anjaam, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge amongst others.

Shahrukh Khan is married to Gauri Khan nee Chibba and has two children Aryan and Suhana and is based in Mumbai.

Besides movies Shahrukh Khan runs a Film production venture called "Dreamz Unlimited" with close friend and co-star Juhi Chawla and director/ friend Aziz Mirza.

Madhavan, John Abraham and Jet Li together

Madhavan was one of the volunteers at the 'Habitat For Humanity' event held in Bangkok recently. He joined John Abraham and Pooja Bedi from India, and Jet Li from China, who were among 3,000 Habitat for Humanity volunteers who dedicated 166 homes in Thailand, Vietnam, China, Laos and Cambodia.

The houses were built or repaired as part of Habitat's annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, where the former US president and first lady helped raise awareness about the need for affordable housing and built homes in partnership with low-income earners.

Hindi movie actor Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, who belongs to a family of great actors and filmmakers, says while his mother Neetu Kapoor is his biggest fan, his father Rishi Kapoor is his biggest critic.

"My mom is my biggest fan, but my father is my biggest critic," said Ranbir.

"He is someone who will call a spade a spade and is not afraid of hurting anyone because he is very correct when opinions are concerned and I am really happy that I have someone like him in my life who will tell me when I'm bad and when I'm good," he said.

Ranbir, who has acted in films Saawariya, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Wake UP Sid will be next seen opposite Katrina Kaif in the romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, slated to release November 6.

INTERVIEW WITH RANBIR KAPOOR

Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor can go on and on about his “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” co-star Katrina Kaif. He finds her drive and passion for work inspiring and says she is “the nicest person in the industry”.

“The drive that Katrina has is inspiring. She is there and she just doesn’t stop. She has come a long way from where she started and where she is today,” Ranbir told IANS in an interview here.

“She is India’s biggest actress and there is a lot of hard work, sacrifice and passion she has put behind that and I totally respect that. And the best part is that she doesn’t take that for granted,” the 28-year-old actor said.

Ranbir, who will be seen again with Katrina in Prakash Jha’s political thriller “Rajneeti”, describes Katrina as the “nicest person in the industry”.

“There is an amazing positive energy about her. She is hardworking and everything she does is for the betterment of the movie. She is fun loving, passionate about cinema and passionate about her work. I share a great rapport with her,” he said.

His “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” is slated for release Nov 6 and shows the story of a happy-go-lucky boy, who falls in love with a girl. But the girl is in love with someone else. The film also has a special appearance by Salman Khan.

Asked about his on-screen chemistry with Katrina, Ranbir said: “As far as chemistry is concerned, I always believe that chemistry never happens between two actors, it happens between two characters in the movie. It depends how the characters are written in the script and the moments and the scenes between them. That’s when chemistry happens.

“Katrina and I are working for the first time, so people are finding this pairing new and fresh, but unless the film releases and unless it becomes a hit, you never know whether the chemistry has worked out or not,” he said.

Ranbir, son of actors Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, made his acting debut in 2007 with Sanjay Leela’s Bhansali’s “Saawariya” opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor. The film failed at the box office, but it didn’t deter his growth as he received positive reviews for his performance and got good offers.

Siddharth Anand’s romantic comedy “Bachna Ae Haseeno” was his second film and it hit the jackpot at the box office. And now everyone - from critics to audiences - are going ga ga over his performance in “Wake Up Sid”, in which he was paired opposite Konkana Sen Sharma.

After “Ajab Prem…”, Ranbir will be seen in Shimit Amin’s “Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year”, “Rajneeti” and Siddharth Anand’s “Anjaana Anjaani”.

Slumdog Millionaire child stars on ramp

Two child stars from the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire may lose their monthly allowance unless they improve their school attendance, a report said on Monday.

Azharuddin Ismail and Rubina Ali—who played younger versions of the main characters in the rags-to-riches blockbuster—have been told to stop skipping class in Mumbai or forfeit a $120 per month payment, NDTV news reported.

The money comes from the Jai Ho Trust, which was established by the movie's British director Danny Boyle and producer Christian Colson to manage the children's interests.

Nirja Matoo, one of the trustees, told PTI that a social worker had informed her that the children, who grew up in the slums where the film was set, were missing class.

"As an attempt to pressure the families to send the kids to school, we have told them that the monthly allowance will be discontinued if the attendance does not improve," the news agency quoted Matoo as saying.

When asked about his truancy by NDTV, Ismail, 11, said "My father died and I had to go through the rituals so I couldn't attend."

Ismail's father died in September after a lengthy battle with tuberculosis. Ali, 10, gave a similar excuse, telling the network "I had hurt my foot with a glass shard and got burnt with a cracker. So I was not going to school."

Ali's father Rafiq defended her, saying "I know what is best for Rubina. They called us and said they will stop helping us. I told them ‘God will take care of us’."

The trust has set up a fund for the children, to be accessed after they graduate, and also gave them new apartments after their makeshift homes were torn down as part of Mumbai's slum clearance drive.
